In the days we live, we often hear of the end of time, the end of days, the coming rapture, the throne of judgment, and so on. It is a serious and fun conversation to have. One that usually brings a smile to my face, but today, we aren’t going to cover any escape plans or chatter on the end of days. Today’s journal entry will focus on the beginning of things and the end of things. :-)

So to find our beginning, let us go to the very last book and final chapter of the bible and take a peek at the gospel of John while we are at it a few other verses as well…

“And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb (Revelation 22:1 KJV).”

“All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made (John 1:3 KJV).”

“In Him was life; and the life was the light of men (John 1:4 KJV).”

“But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water (John 19:34 KJV)."

Out of the throne of God and of the Lamb did this river flow. Yes, this river contained life as it poured out from Papa’s Throne and from the belly of the Lamb. We know this to be true because of the Roman soldier that pierced the belly of Jesus and water with blood poured forth.

But before we get carried away, let us be reminded of the journey the Lord took to get here. In the previous journal entry we captured a type of poem of God. This is the last part…

“There was never a time, that it was not, You and I. It was then that I stepped out from You to perform Your full will and then returned unto You once again, it was You and I.”

He, Jesus, stepped out from the Father. He became in that instance, the first born of “all” creation and the first born of the Spirit. He was the hidden Word living inside of the Father and He contained, rather contains, all of the treasures that would ever be. No matter if they were people, animals, birds, fish, or breath or light… All that exists in heaven and earth were contained in the Word and were placed there for Him by His Father… for it is of Him, through Him, and to Him are all things possible! And we find that from His birthing that the river of life began to flow, the same one mentioned in the book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ (Revelation 1:1 KJV).

“That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit (John 3: 6 KJV).”

“for of Him, and through Him, and to Him, are all things (Romans 11: 16 KJV)…”

“Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: for by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him: and He is before all things, and by Him all things consist (Colossians 1: 15-17 KJV).”

Everything. All the Father destined to be whether tangible or hidden came through His Son. Jesus was and is the hidden treasure of love from the Father. He has placed all things under His authority. All creation is subject to Him. He is the expression of love from the Father and He was given to us as a gift. A holder of life. A repairer of the breach. A perfect reflection of His Father. He stood up from the belly of ABBA and took on the fullness of His Dad and didn’t look back. He reached in and pulled out one by one the elements of creation to bring them to pass. His River of Life, began to flow at the same time when He was called the Alpha… and it’s this same River of Life that flows in the final chapter of the book of Revelation where He is called the Omega. The river of life feeds the creation that sprung forth and feeds orchards, fields, and the nations.

Jesus came to do the will of His Father and He did it all. Not one thing was left out of the equation. “And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which He hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day (John 6: 39 KJV).”

Godspeed, The Journeyman

PS. Take time to spend with Him daily. Even if it is but a few minutes. It is a better to have a few simple moments each day than one grand hour on the weekend. Seek Him early! Happy Easter!
