Compelled...

This morning had a fast paced entrance unto the day. Upon the sun peeking through the blinds and curtains, the birds chirping, and my feet hitting the carpeted floor, my prayer had started. It began with a wink and nod to Papa God thanking Him for the new day; another extension of gratitude to the Holy Spirit for fellowshipping with me in the resting hours of the previous evening; and thanking Jesus for the opportunity of the day ahead.

Like a typical Sunday morning, I made my way to the living room after a quick stop by the coffee pot and then sauntered into my chair. My feet extended out on the ottoman and I grabbed my bible with subtle sips of coffee as my reading commenced. This particular morning we were bookmarked for II Corinthians chapters 4-10.

It goes by fast. Each chapter is read in sequence and fills me for the day. Then some simple prayer carries the next few moments. Some in English and some in heaven’s language. The birds chirping quieted. A few more moments had passed and then on came some worship and prophetic worship with the Eleventh Hour crew.

Next round of coffee was consumed.

Breaking during the worship, Holy Ghost began a conversation. I promised not to argue, but… It happened anyway. Some nuggets were dropped in and I began to chew on them ‘discussing’ them with Him. Sigh… more like taking the counter point. Sigh… in it I can see this was a part of me that was giving way to a part of Him. As John the Baptist said, “He must increase, but I must decrease (John 3: 30).”

That portion that was arguing was the part that was struggling with something He was doing in me and around me. It is the Potter molding the clay for a particular need or circumstance. And remember, as long as we stay in His River we are pliable and moldable, it is when we step out and leave that we become hardened and brittle. So stay in, while you can… His River moves where He desires and may not be found back where you left or stepped out.

We walk in faith. Yet at times, we demand to see to take our first step. Paul wrote as much to the church in Corinth. Dead. All were dead men and women walking. All whoever had been born were the walking dead. True Life had not entered them. At least not until the Son of God, Jesus, came as our atonement. II Corinthians 5: 14 “…if one died for all, then were all dead…” In this, all needed a resurrection and champion.

Salvation at the door.

The moment of your salvation you took a blind step toward life without yet seeing it. You were then washed in the blood of the Lamb of God and became a new creation! The old had just passed away and the new that was on the horizon had arisen in you, see 2 Corinthians 5: 17. Just as the darkness passes in the night to the rising of the sun, your first steps out of darkness were toward a new and enlightening horizon!

Sunrise.

The new rising of the Son in you begins to compel you to walk in a way worthy of Him. Not a mandate, but an act of love. An act that is birthed from within as the Morning Son is shining brightly in you. It is the glory that illuminates in the darkness. That glory is a hope for those searching and wandering in the darkness. “Christ in you, the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27)…”

Others will see His Glory in you and be compelled to ask you. Be ready to share. Times are changing fast and we will have moments and pockets of opportunity to share ‘this little light of mine’ with those being exposed to it. The days are now upon us. The lampshades are off and His light is calling out to those in the darkness. You may be the only light He has wherever you are.

To draw back up to the beginning, when you wrestle with the Lord, think upon what He is doing and what you have asked Him to do. Arguing is a way to let go and trust Him when you can not yet see. Be compelled to let go when you remember. May His Peace leave you comforted (John 14: 27).

Godspeed, The Journeyman

Ps. Take a moment and read II Corinthians 5. Several verses are referenced here. May the LORD use you where you are. May you be His city on a hill. Walk in His Love. Be bold, be brave.

John 3: 30 KJV “He must increase, but I must decrease.”

John 14: 27 KJV “Peace I leave with you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

2 Corinthians 5: 7 KJV “for we walk by faith, not by sight…”

2 Corinthians 5: 14-15 KJV “For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: and that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.”

2 Corinthians 5: 17 KJV “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

Colossians 1: 27 KJV “to whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory…”
